Free Program Code

MY SYSTEM IS CONTINUOUSLY BEING PROTECTED AGAINST VIRUSES AND SPY-WARE BY AVG.

Here are many programs I have produced over the years, along with the program code. Anyone is welcome to download these, to do as you wish. If you are not familiar with downloading or get any problems downloading, click on Download Help below. I make no guarantee as to any of my programs, but I have never known any to cause damage to the system. I often seek to improve and update them, the same way as we are often asked to update the versions of Windows installed. Over the past 20 or so years I have used several different versions of Basic. I once started a thread in the Liberty basic forum asking why Basic is looked down upon by mainly younger Programmers, in favour of more complex languages. The general consensus of opinion was that the sensible programmer uses whatever language fits the purpose. All the languages work under Windows, except Qbasic / QuickBasic which is DOS based so may need DOSBOX. Free Basic will run most QB code and will work on all versions of Windows and often create code to work on Debian versions of Linux such as the Ubuntus. My personal opinion is that Liberty Basic is the most popular for creating Windows based GUI programs, but its Basic is not as comprehensive as BBC BASIC and Qbasic. BBC BASIC for Windows has the widest range of Basic functions, but is maybe more difficult to understand when attempting to make use of the important Windows Buttons, Boxes, and menus. JustBasic is a free but a limited version of Liberty Basic, such as unable to access Windows complex API calls. As always each computer language has its own advantages and disadvantages. Both LB and JB include the use of a simple Mainwindow similar to a text only version QB.
